SHINDIG return, offering once again a unique evening of multimedia entertainment & artistry. We welcome deft songstress Laura McGarrigle back from her self-imposed exile on the continent just in time to release her debut EP, as well as the brooding noise antics of Tenebrous Liar - little-known overlords of a somewhat rougher universe. Local lads Holden Girls will be on hand too, providing their seamless brand of shoegazey dream-pop.

The evening exhibits work by surrealist photographer & Art Salon contributor Karl Dmitri Bishop, commissioned to produce imagery in response to the above. His highly constructed shots veil their subjects in obscurity like scenes from dreams, exploring themes such as spirituality and gender.

FLACK Fundraiser: Glenn Hutchinson, Toby Peters + Friends
CB2

Hosted by Glenn Hutchinson and Toby Peters, CB2’s upstairs area is set to become a bustling hubbub of musical and spoken word performance in aid of FLACK Magazine – a local charity working creatively with people who’ve experienced homelessness.

Glenn Hutchinson is a poet of some renown, originally from Northern Ireland but now finding himself here in Cambridge. He has published several works, notably the collection “On the Border”, and is very much looking forward to reading publically again.

Toby Peters is a musician & filmmaker, currently employed as FLACK’s artist in residence. In 2010 he was awarded the TalkTalk Digital Heroes award for his inspirational contribution to FLACK and unique digital film making. His personal experience of homelessness gives him great empathy in his work.

FLACK Magazine works with people’s potential, not their problems, producing a monthly magazine full of articles, artwork and listings unique to Cambridge. Why not grab a copy on the night?

Donations welcome instead of entry fee :-)
