RICHARD EGARR solo harpsichord
JS BACH Well-Tempered Clavier Book I

Following the sell-out success of his solo recitals of Bach's Goldberg
Variations last season, the AAM's Music Director Richard Egarr takes on
another peak of the harpsichord repertoire, the first part of the Well-
Tempered Clavier. These are special fundraising recitals to support the
AAM's orchestral concert series in London and Cambridge.

Audience favourite Giuliano Carmignola returns with a
pair of violin concertos by brothers Joseph and Michael
Haydn.

Carmignola has forged a strong relationship with
the AAM over the past few years, and this has been
commented on by audiences and critics alike.

The concert ends
with a popular symphony by Joseph Haydn, generally reckoned
to be the father of the symphonic form, and begins with a
youthful example of the genre by his younger compatriot Mozart.

Mozart Symphony No.14 in A major K114
J Haydn Violin concerto in C major Hob VIIa:1
M Haydn Violin concerto in A major MH207
J Haydn Symphony No.49 in F minor ‘La Passione'

Join the AAM in May for rare performances of all six of JS Bach's Brandenburg Concertos.

Richard Egarr presides over evenings of breathtaking variety and virtuosity as the AAM explores these seminal works in concert before recording them for Harmonia Mundi.

No two concertos are the same either in style or instrumentation; from the dazzling trumpet solo in the second to the astonishing harpsichord cadenza in the fifth, there is more contrast packed into one evening than you would imagine.
