Jackson United

Jackson United
Soul Tree
Jackson United is a band consisting mainly of members of other bands as a collaborated side project. The band were formed by Foo Fighters and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes guitarist Chris Shiflett. The band also features guitarist Doug Sangalang (formerly of Screw 32 and Limp) Chris's older brother; bassist Scott Shiflett who made his name as a member of Face to Face and Mighty Mighty Bosstones drummer, Joe Sirois.

For the last three years, Cambridge based The Mono Effect has featured in national press, toured and gigged the length and breadth of the UK and featured regularly on Radio One with their melodic power rock songs. They've pushed their four part harmonies and driven rock to the limit; and now have recorded their latest album, ‘Giants', with Russ Russell (Wildhearts / Napalm Death).

The Judge Reinholds don't have a Myspace page but would just like to let you know that they are rather good. Think of Sprinsteen mounting all of Samiam and you'd be thinking of a darn good band. The JRs aspire to be darn good one day.

YouthMovies - "Lets do an I-Spy checklist of possible influences, shall we? To my somewhat limited ears, there are traces of the following across Hurrah!: Spy Versus Spy, 90 Day Men, Muse, Sweep The Leg Johnny, Fugazi, 31 Knots and Yes. Am I right? Who cares; the point is that such a list proves this record's reluctance to be easily categorised. YMSS arent easy to tackle, critically they throw many a curveball into the make up of every song, and thus, are a refreshing delight." Drownedinsound

The Last Republic
Portland Arms, The
The Last Republic are moving in the right circles. Producer Chris Sheldon, who has worked with the likes of The Foo Fighters, Radiohead and Roger Waters, produced their debut EP earlier this year. It was laid down at the legendary Monnow Valley studios graced by the likes of Black Sabbath, Robert Plant and Oasis. Lead Singer Jon Owen says the famous producer "used his golden touch on our songs. His arrangements were perfect for our sound." Those songs - including 'Hear What I Said' and 'Let's Make Bombs' - have have an epic quality to them. Catchy and anthemic, The Last Republic's songs also combine beauty and melody with a driving rock sound, which has been winning them fans across the UK.
