It is becoming increasingly difficult to categorise music by REVERE. Incorporating violin, cello, keys, trumpet and harp into a three guitar-led sound, REVERE touch on numerous musical reference points, combining elements of gypsy marches, klezmer, post rock, film scores and gospel into a truly unique sound.

Live, REVERE play with an unparalleled intensity, working songs from music-box soft openings into relentless walls of sound shot through with a show-stopping falsetto.

Ask any kilt wearing Jimmy about Scotland's most famous exports and he'll be sure to say whisky, haggis, shortbread, Irn-Bru and street drinkers. It won't be long before you can add THE XCERTS to that list! After taking Aberdeen by storm the three piece relocated to Brighton a year ago and have been kicking up a storm ever since. After catching the ears of Matrix movie soundtrack composer Ben Watkins, they were whisked off to Ridge Farm and recorded their debut single. (Out in December on Glasgow based indie, The Foreign Office) Citing influences as varied as The Cure, Mogwai and Nada Surf but compared to Nirvana and The Police they combine clean and clever melodies with triumphant rock riffs, a keen pop sensibility and intelligent edge. They've already stoked the interest of a bunch of record labels despite their tender age, and commence their second UK tour this December. And all this before singer Murray McLeod has turned 19!

THE DRIFT

Featuring members of Tarentel and Lazarus, The Drift are an instrumental four-piece from San Francisco who are comprised of trumpet, electronics, guitar, keyboards, upright bass and drums. The music combines elements of rare groove, dub, out jazz, and more esoteric leanings that conjure a unique musical space free of traditional confines, simultaneously frenetic and sublime. Two albums have been released on the influential label Temporary Residence (Fridge, Grails, Explosions In The Sky, Mono, etc)

Catch them on one of their way to the All Tomorrow's Parties Festival at this rare performance as they're only playing two shows in the UK!
