Event details: Ask any kilt wearing Jimmy about Scotland's most famous exports and he'll be sure to say whisky, haggis, shortbread, Irn-Bru and street drinkers. It won't be long before you can add THE XCERTS to that list! After taking Aberdeen by storm the three piece relocated to Brighton a year ago and have been kicking up a storm ever since. After catching the ears of Matrix movie soundtrack composer Ben Watkins, they were whisked off to Ridge Farm and recorded their debut single. (Out in December on Glasgow based indie, The Foreign Office) Citing influences as varied as The Cure, Mogwai and Nada Surf but compared to Nirvana and The Police they combine clean and clever melodies with triumphant rock riffs, a keen pop sensibility and intelligent edge. They've already stoked the interest of a bunch of record labels despite their tender age, and commence their second UK tour this December. And all this before singer Murray McLeod has turned 19!
