The term "Folk" is rather loosely used for this club - there is a wonderful diversity of music ranging from very traditional English, Scottish and Irish folk music right through the spectrum of blues, jazz, country and middle of the road, we even get classical occasionally from some of our talented musicians. Amongst the many instruments played are guitar, mandolin, auto-harp, banjo, hurdy-gurdy, whistle, flute, bodhran, fiddle, melodeon, harmonica, accordion, dulcimer to name but a few, then of course there are the many singers. However, whatever the style of music - the club is keeping up the tradition of "live" music and long may it go on.
Some may say that our club is not a "proper" Folk Club because we don't have guest performances from famous folk singers and bands but we have a great time and there is a great deal of talent amongst our many members - it doesn't leave room for "guests"! It is rare that we have less than a dozen performers and there are often quite a few more than that.
