After being part of the house trio at the Cambridge Jazz Club for a number of years, John took the decision in 1982 to move to the States. On moving to California, he studied with legendary Joe Henderson, and his career began to take off as he played with leading West Coast players such as Randy Masters, Larry Grenadier, Jeff Ballard, Donny McCaslin, Eddie Marshall, and gigged with notables including Eddie Henderson, Red Holloway, John Handy, Richie Cole.
In the UK, he has featured in groups led by Iain Ballamy, Art Themen, Clark Tracey, Alan Barnes, Don Weller, John Etheridge, and worked with Art Farmer, Conte Condoli, Freddie Hubbard, Buddy de Franco/Terry Gibbs, and more. One of THE top pianists working in jazz... one not to miss!
