Cambridge Acoustic Nights

Cambridge Acoustic Nights
CB2
14 March: Tonight's artists will include the local duo Martin Kaszak (Guitar and vocals) and 'Doc' Howard Roscoe (Harmonicas) who will perform their own blend of traditional ragtime blues, influenced by Blind Blake, Rev Gary Davis & Sonny Boy Williamson, and interlaced with more modern songs.

28 March: Graham Robins - Graham began performing in the 60s and played alongside Amen Corner, The Herd, Geno Washington and Ram Jam Band, Long John Baldry, Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames, Jimmy Ruffin and many others. As those who saw his previous appearances in Cambridge will know well, Graham is a superb performer with a soulful voice and great songs. His voice has been likened to Van Morrison's while Geno Washington has said of Graham 'This man has soul' - and he should know. He has recently released a new album, Roll back the years, featuring some excellent songs including Tom Hamilton's Blues and Magdalene's Fire.

Cambridge Acoustic Nights

Cambridge Acoustic Nights
CB2
Saturday night gigs downstairs at CB2 in Norfolk Street, alternating with Acoustic Routes.

7 Feb: Cara Winter and Paul Liddell

Influenced by musicians such as Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones and Tori Amos, Cara's music has been described as emotive, questioning, evocative, heart-felt and pictorial - 'Cara's achingly beautiful music holds the listener in a way that only the likes of Kate Bush and Tori Amos can. These are obvious comparisons, but Cara has a voice of her own, and with a quality of songs to match you really ought to check out this amazing talent'. Simon Baker, Music-zine.

21 Feb: Bruise and the Ouse Brothers

Bruise are a duo from London featuring Isobel Morris and Jim Kimberley. From a background of folk clubs and festivals, unacompanied singing and open tuned guitars, Isobel had a catalogue of melodic and lyrically intense songs, Jim brought production sensibilities. Their first album was critically acclaimed by The Times and The Wire and played on BBC6 Music, and combined with a growing reputation as live performers it won them repeat appearances at Glastonbury, support slots for cult space-rockers Hawkwind, and plays on US college radio.
