The Michaelhouse Centre, situated in St Michael's Church, opened in 2002 as a unique Community resource in the City Centre. It comprises a modern and well-equipped café, meeting rooms for hire, display/exhibition space, performance space and the medieval Hervey de Stanton Chapel, set aside for meditation and prayer. THE SKELETAL FAMILY 80'S GOTH LEGENDS make a long awaited appearance in Cambridge. In the 1980's the band had enormous indie sucess with classic dark numbers such as 'The Night', Promised Land and the Haunting 'She Cries Alone'.
This is a rare opportunity to catch one of the great goth indy bands of the 1980's!!
Support comes from Cologne's finest dark wave combo The SlimP. Their sound is old school goth. Basically the Offspring of Siouxsie and Robert Smith, that's a pretty good description. I say no more.....
and the wonderful Compact Pussycat, Norwich's fab all female band make a welcome return to complete a truly dark line up!!

Scar my Eyes come to Cambridge on their 3rd UK tour this summer.

Coming from a place more well known for it's heroin habits than local music scene, you could forgive these guys for being a little bit different to your average metal band. While most bands around the U.K. had some sort of blueprint to follow, Scar My Eyes sat back in a small youth centre in the depths of no-where and constructed a sound both heavy, and heartfelt.

Combining their love for thrash metal, hardcore and heavy grooves, Scar My Eyes created a new, refreshing take on modern music adding a darker edge that truly sets them out from the rest....A formidable live act...to say the least...

With the successful nationwide sale of their Double 'A' Side single recorded by Dan Weller and Justin Hill of ex SiKTh (R.I.P) and now 'Minutes', Scar My Eyes have since released their debut EP 'This Machine...' (again recorded by Dan and Justin) After a successful month long UK tour in support of their latest EP 'This Machine...' Scar My Eyes are booking their second 2008 UK tour with Open the Skies and Lavondyss in support of it's release...

Shakespeare said something about music being the food of love. Well, music and food are inextricably linked at The Green Man, Rackheath, out on the Wroxham Road, about 10 minutes' drive out of the city centre.

Music comes in the form of the top-class jazz to be heard at the pub on Tuesday evenings. Older readers will undoubtedly recognise the figure of drumming legend Jack Parnell, who makes the journey from his home at Southwold each week to anchor the resident trio - although he recently celebrated his 80th birthday. Pianist Mike Capocci, along with bass player Mike Harris, completes the trio; Mike's wife, Barbara, runs the club with an efficient hand, and these sessions are a well-established part of the Norwich musical scene.
