Presented by the Friends of Ely Sinfonia, Ely Methodist Church, Friday 10th September 2010, 7.30pm</p> <p>Celebrated local musician, Steve Bingham, is teaming up with wordsmith Jeremy Harmer on Friday 10th September for an evening dedicated to love. Presented by the Friends of Ely Sinfonia and taking place at Ely Methodist Church, the event combines classical and electric violin, loops, guitar and voice, demonstrating the passion, tenderness and agony of deep feeling, as they are brought out by both music and the spoken word.</p> <p>Touchable Dreams explores the symbiosis between words and music and the ways in which they echo and complement each other. Sometimes words follow the music; at other times music follows the words; and sometimes the words and the music are intertwined in an almost physical interdependency.</p> <p>“This is an event unlike any you'll have experienced before,” says Roz Chalmers, who chairs Ely Sinfonia. “When I first heard Jeremy and Steve with their unique combination of modern and classical music and words, I was completely bowled over.” </p> <p>Jeremy Harmer says: “We try to show how music and words, the very bases of human emotion, can co-exist and enhance each other in expressing one of the greatest emotions of the human experience – love. We describe romantic love, transient love, ridiculous love, bitter love, lost love and sublime love.”</p> <p><a href="http://movingtone.com/events/touchable-dreams">read more</a></p> classical classical electronic jazz voice world music Mon, 06 Sep 2010 12:03:04 +0000 elysinfonia 3675 at http://movingtone.com Ely Methodist Church http://movingtone.com/directory/ely-methodist-church <p>Church providing the venue for many different types of event.</p> classical electronic jazz spoken word venue voice world music Mon, 06 Sep 2010 11:59:35 +0000 elysinfonia 3674 at http://movingtone.com Farewell Cambridge - Hello Oxford One Heart Sings : Anne L Ryan http://movingtone.com/events/farewell-cambridge-hello-oxford-one-heart-sings-anne-l-ryan <div class="event-nodeapi"><div class="event-start"><label>Start: </label>12 May 2010 - 13:00</div></div> <div class="event-nodeapi"><div class="event-end"><label>End: </label>12 May 2010 - 13:40</div></div> <div class="event-nodeapi"><div class="event-tz"><label>Timezone: </label>Etc/GMT</div></div> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta name="ProgId" content="Word.Document" /> <meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 11" /> <meta name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 11" /> <link href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CANNERY%7E1%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtml1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml" rel="File-List" /> <link href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CANNERY%7E1%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtml1%5C01%5Cclip_editdata.mso" rel="Edit-Time-Data" /> <!--[if !mso]> <style> v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} </style> <![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if !mso]> <object classid="clsid:38481807-CA0E-42D2-BF39-B33AF135CC4D" id=ieooui> </object> <style> st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } </style> <![endif]--><style> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> </xml><![endif]--> <p align="left"> <!--[if gte vml 1]> <![endif]--><b><i>Anne L Ryan</i><i> - Farewell Cambridge - Hello Oxford</i></b> </p> <div align="right"> </div> <div> <b><i>One Heart Sings</i><i> - Solo voice   Lunchtime Concerts</i></b> </div> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p align="right"> <b><i>Wednesday, 12 May at 1pm </i><i>(retiring collection)</i></b> </p><p><a href="http://movingtone.com/events/farewell-cambridge-hello-oxford-one-heart-sings-anne-l-ryan">read more</a></p> spiritual voice Thu, 06 May 2010 21:37:33 +0000 3614 at http://movingtone.com One Voice Sings http://movingtone.com/events/one-voice-sings <div class="event-nodeapi"><div class="event-start"><label>Start: </label>24 Oct 2009 - 09:43</div></div> <div class="event-nodeapi"><div class="event-tz"><label>Timezone: </label>Etc/GMT</div></div> A beating heart - a lone voice - a theatrical setting - songs and works exploring vocal sounds from lamentation to joyous celebration: one voice sings new life into song. classical gigs - acoustic new composition new music and improv song spiritual Theatre voice Wed, 20 May 2009 10:47:39 +0000 3355 at http://movingtone.com Anglia Ruskin Drama Centre http://movingtone.com/directory/cambridge-drama-centre The Anglia Ruskin Drama Centre is currently used by Anglia Ruskin Performing Arts students.
