An acoustic treat at the Boathouse this Sunday, courtesy of upcoming talent Jade Rhiannon (plus special guests, to be announced).
Jade is a singer songwriter from Cambridge who 'started out singing on various collaborations before picking up the guitar' and who now is making quite a name for herself on the folk music map, with gigs all over the UK, as well as dates in Australia and New Zealand, including Cambridge Folk Festival, The Mean Fiddler, Strawberry Fair, Splore, Soho Revue Bar, Small World Festival and Ely Folk Festival (having won the Ely folk festival competition in 2007) Her beautifully crafted songs, impassioned voice and ambient style reflect her incredibly wide-ranging musical influences, including such names Kate Bush, Massive Attack, Jeff Buckley and Bjork.
Her debut EP Searching Within Chaos was launched in June 2007, and has had regular airplay on various radio stations including BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and 209FM.
If you haven't heard Jade's mesmerising voice yet, have a listen to her sample songs on Myspace - or better still head down to the Boathouse to sample the real thing, with some surprise guests promised. At £4 it's cheaper than a couple of pints, and twice as heady!
