Camberwell composers collect in Cambridge

Kettle's Yard

The Camberwell Composers Collective are the New Music Associates at Kettles Yard Modern Art Gallery for 2008-09. A concert of their new works will be performed there on Wednesday 29 October.

The Camberwell Composers Collective are Mark Bowden, Emily Hall, Chris Mayo, Anna Meredith and Charlie Piper. C3 have built a reputation for their visually exciting, informal and sometimes irreverent concert experiences.  Expect strong new works with amplification and electronics. Emily Hall's powerful put flesh on juxtaposes cello with electronics made from an intense sermon delivered by the Reverend Audrey F. Branson, a lady pastor of the Church of the Open Door of Philadelphia.

Other highlights include Anna Meredith's beat-based remix of Scotland the Brave and Mark Bowden's hoist for pebbles with film.  The rest of the concert will feature brand new material written for this opening event. A strong visual identity is part of the Camberwell Composers Collective and the performance will also feature animations and live projected drawings, by animator Tony Comley and illustrator Eleanor Meredith. The concert performers will be Stuart King (clarinet), Ignacio Molins (percussion), Sarah Nicolls (piano) and Oliver Coates (cello).

Call 01223 352124 to book tickets (£10, £5 concessions).

The 2009 series of Sunday Coffee Concerts and New Music Mornings will be announced later in the Autumn.
