Event details: ECM recording artist, Norma Winstone, exquisite lyricist and pioneering innovator of the voice in jazz, is joined by fellow virtuosi for an evening of music that defies categorisation. Brought together here by their collective love of song, these musicians cross the boundaries that traditionally separate jazz, folk music and the contemporary music world.

Nikki Iles and Mike Walker's almost telepathic empathy and energy will be familiar to many and with the addition of the highly creative saxophone player, Mark Lockheart, the repertoire will not only have the distinctive air of English song but will also include originals by band members as well as exploring the relatively uncharted territory of Steve Swallow, Ralph Towner, Joni Mitchell and the poetry of Rupert Brooke. Completing the line up are Steve Watts on Bass - a significant player in so many innovative groups such as Django Bates, Iain Ballamy and Kirk Lightsey -and on drums, American Jeff Williams who has worked extensively with the late Stan Getz, Paul Bley, Joe Lovano and Richie Beirach.
