Event details: Graffiti Classics are a string quartet like no other. "Classics" here is an inclusive term, with Irish, Scottish, English and Russian folk favourites, and even the Charlie Daniels Band's ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia' joining Beethoven, Bach, Prokofiev and opera.
Not gypsy, not jazz, not traditional, not classical - so what are they?
To find out you really have to see them for yourself, but you can be sure that, in defying categorisation, they have built immaculate music firmly into the mix, and it is the fun and excitement they create that enthrals.
They were founded in 1997 by four young professional musicians, who met whilst busking in Covent Garden, London, and the group's unique style offers a refreshing insight into the world of classical music for
everyone, whatever their age. This would be an ideal concert for children as a fantastically "un-stuffy" way to introduce them to classical music.
Since their debut on 'The Late, Late Show' with Gay Burne in 1998, Graffiti Classics have been in regular demand on TV and radio, and on their international tours. They played to packed houses at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, getting the top honour of 5 stars in the reviews.
