Event details:

‘H.M.S. Pinafore’ or ‘The Lass that Loved a Sailor’ is one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best loved musical - theatre works, written over 130 years ago it continues to be one of their most enjoyable operettas and has achieved extraordinary popularity worldwide through wonderful tunes and highly comic situations.

Now YOU can take part in a performance of this gloriously funny musical full of good natured humour that will be an evening of enjoyment for all the family.

During the first half of the performance you, the audience, will learn the words and music of the chorus songs under the direction of Mr Ian McMillan accompanied by Ely Sinfonia under their Artistic Director Mr Steve Bingham. Words and music sheets are included in the ticket price.

After the interval you will be joined by our company of distinguished soloists from the world of West-End Theatre and Opera to perform a slightly edited version of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comical masterpiece.

To add to the fun of the event you are invited to come dressed in Victorian costume as a sailor or maiden, or whatever takes your fancy.

We hope that many local choirs and musical societies will join us for the evening and a special ticket price is available to groups of 8 or more people with a £2 reduction on each ticket.

The evening will end with a grand ‘Last Night of the Proms’ finale, with Union Jack flags supplied.

Do not miss what promises to be a wonderful ending to the Eel Day Festival.
