Ely Sinfonia presents its 10th anniversary concert with Ely Consort and Swavesey Community Choir at Ely Cathedral. Featuring the ultimate Gothic fantasy - Mozart's iconic Requiem Mass in D minor. Commissioned by the eccentric count Franz von Walsegg, it was incomplete on Mozart’s death and played unfinished at the composer’s memorial service.
The programme includes Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony no 5 in C minor, Adam Pounds The Martyrdom of Latimer (World Premiere). A special commission to celebrate Ely Sinfonia’s 10th anniversary. Helen-Jane Howells soprano, Olivia Ray mezzo-soprano, Nicholas Bewes tenor, Simon Adams bass, Ely Sinfonia Steve Bingham conductor and director. Premium tickets include complimentary programme and entry to a private drinks reception to meet the conductor, composer, orchestra members and special guests.
