Event details: A month long programme of events celebrating age, launched on the 'International Day of Older People'.

Older people make a unique contribution within their families, neighbourhoods, community organisations and the economy. We invite them, their families and friends to take part in a wide range of events and activities and see what's available all year round in their local communities.

Launch event at the Salvation Army Hall in Mill Road, Cambridge, Wednesday 1 October, 10.30am-2pm.
With: Johnny Dee (BBC Radio Cambs), Entertainment from Grandpa George and the Jumping Fleas ukulele band, Hills Road Sixth Form jazz band, Local history quiz / slide show, Lunch and refreshments, Information stalls

This year's programme offers over 100 diverse events and activities including:
• The chance to take part in the new Cambridge Festival of !deas with over 200 workshops, events and discussions,
• Local events across the County,
• Taster sessions offering a chance to learn something new,
• A great end to the month with a Golden Age festival in Cambourne,
• And much, much more!

Every event offers a warm welcome and is free and open to all, unless stated otherwise. Do come along and join in Celebrating Age in Cambridgeshire 2008. We look forward to seeing you.
