Event details: Explore workshops (woodwind, brass, strings and percussion) let you find out about a section of the orchestra, and then play along with the musicians. No experience needed, but one Explore workshop in each section will be aimed at children who already have lessons on an instrument.

Instrument-making workshops are where you can get out the glue and glitter and design your very own musical instrument from everyday objects.

Gamelan workshops (Cambridge only, aged 8+). A rare opportunity to play on these amazing Indonesian instruments. Not to be missed!

In between workshops, you can take part in our quizzes and competitions, get your face painted, or just take time to get your breath back before you plunge into the next activity!

Grand Finale concert At 4.00pm, play along with the band in our special family concert.

The day is designed for children aged 5-12 and their families. Younger and older children are also welcome to attend.
