The annual Britten Sinfonia/University of Cambridge Composers' Workshop has become a firm fixture in the calendars of up-and-coming student composers. This year, Oliver Knussen and Ryan Wigglesworth - whose works for mixed ensemble will have been heard in the second Britten Sinfonia at Lunch concert - will select five pieces written by student composers for the same ensemble to be rehearsed and performed by Britten Sinfonia.
The workshop is a fascinating opportunity for audiences as well as students to hear the advice and opinions of one of the UK's foremost composers.
