Event details: Bassekou Kouyate is one of the true masters of the ngoni, a lute-like instrument from West Africa. His 2007 album Segu Blue, won exceptional critical acclaim and was voted Album of the Year at the BBC Radio 3 awards fro World Music.

Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba have performed several times in the UK. including at the 2007 WOMAD festival. Their high energy performances have earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting live world music acts.
