    Description: In the 2007 - 2008 Swinburne Hall Concert Series, promoted by the Centre for Music and Performing Arts, Colchester Institute, there is a continued focus on top quality events to suit all interests covering a wide range of genres from classical to rock, comedy and contemporary. Within this website you will find a complete calendar of events from September 2007 to June 2008 together with detailed descriptions of the Autumn/Winter events to February 2008.

    A number of distinguished international artists will be making return visits to the Swinburne Hall, including Phil Hilborne (Rock guitar, 5 December) and the inimitable Rainer Hersch who will be giving his fourth outrageously hilarious performance here - certain to be a sell out on 31 October. A warm welcome back to Ensemble Bash (13 February), this time with the dazzling violinist Madeline Mitchell and the Angell Trio (14 November) who are also artists in residence at our partner institution the University of Essex.

    We are also privileged that Craig Ogden (a legend in the guitar world) and pianist Noriko Ogawa (who in addition to international success, regularly performs in Colchester) will appear in the series.

    You will recognise several familiar events including the CMPA Showcase (14 December) and Opera Workshop (The Mikado) in February, whilst later in the season we continue our association with the Bingham String Quartet as Quartet in Residence.
